Gn Rae-Ann

Gn Rae-Ann (Caitlyn)

Singaporean currently studying Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art (University of the Arts London). Artist with Station House da Opera. (they/them) (Gn is my surname.)

I am an artist that works mainly with installation, participatory, and performance art. I work a lot with ideas surrounding Southeast Asian culture and traditions, conversation and language, and gender and sexuality. I enjoy making use of found objects and food within my work-- food and conversations over meals are very important to me.

I am currently a member of performance art group Station House da Opera, having worked on two performances with other artists and educators in the collective, with many more to come.

I am also currently a member and website manager for the I am Jo collective formed in 2022, having done one exhibition with the collective so far.

Aside from my artistic practice, I also research and write essays on contemporary art as a means of exploring my own practice.

In my own time, I create digital art and illustrations, taking freelance commissions as well as volunteering with various independent collectives. I am currently an illustrator working with @MyQueerStory on Instagram, and have made and sold merchandise for charity on @lalangbarang on Instagram. I have also created full page illustrations for various independent zines.
